Clip And Save De-Skunking Formula
In the early 1990s, a group of chemists gave the world one of the greatest gifts since penicillin: An effective treatment for a skunk-sprayed dog.
Although this recipe has been published in The Spokesman-Review several times, some people neglect to clip and save the formula, apparently thinking the disaster will never strike members of their kennel.
So here it is again. The only side affect we’ve heard about is a lightening in the fur on dark-colored dogs.
De-skunking treatment: Mix a quart of hydrogen peroxide with one-quarter cup of baking soda and one teaspoon of liquid soap. Apply the mixture to the dog and leave it on for at least 5 minutes before rinsing.
Then breath easy.
