Gorton Seeks Feedback On Ed Bill

U.S. Sen. Slade Gorton will host a roundtable discussion Saturday in Spokane on his proposed education bill.

Gorton will solicit feedback from educators and community leaders on his “Straight A’s” bill, which would give school districts the option of receiving federal money with fewer strings attached, as long as they meet certain performance goals.

The event is planned from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the Spokane Area Chamber Commerce conference room, 801 W. Riverside.

The bill likely will be debated by the Senate later this fall.
