Sen. Gorton Postpones Education Roundtable
U.S. Sen. Slade Gorton has postponed indefinitely a roundtable discussion in Spokane on his proposed education bill.
The event had been scheduled for this morning at the Spokane Area Chamber of Commerce conference room.
Gorton’s spokeswoman said he had to cancel the community discussion due to a scheduling conflict.
The event will be rescheduled in the near future.
Gorton’s “Straight A’s” bill, which would give school districts the option of receiving federal money with fewer strings attached, will be debated by the Senate later this fall.
