I-Aa Honor To Griffith
Eastern Washington Sophomore Jovan Griffith was selected as the ESPN/USA Today I-AA football player of the week after he rushed for 262 yards and six touchdowns in a 48-41 win over Cal State Northridge.
Griffith and sophomore Jesse Chatman, who finished with 211 yards on just 16 carries, combined to rush for 473 yards to set a I-AA record for combined rushing yards by two players. Eastern finished with a school-record 456 yards of net rushing in the win.
