New faces:

The Spokane office of BDO Seidman LLP has added the following people to its staff:

Elisabeth Orsi rejoined the firm as a tax senior. Orsi, who is a graduate of Eastern Washington University, previously worked for BDO Seidman before going to the private sector. She was most recently with the accounting firm of Kasama & Co. in Seattle.

Dru McMackin was hired as an assurance intern/associate. Previously with UPS, McMackin is scheduled to graduate from Eastern Washington University in December.

Premier Marketing LLC has expanded its management staff to include the following people:

Terry Stout, who was named operations supervisor, has three years of experience in team and project leadership and served 12 years with the Air Force. He received a bachelor’s degree from Eastern Washington University and is pursuing a master’s degree in organizational leadership at Gonzaga University.

Dawn Gray was hired as human resources administrator. She earned bachelor’s degrees in English and psychology and has taken graduate training in psychology and sociology. Her background includes retail store management and service in the Army medical department. She will oversee Premier’s employee benefits program, recruiting, hiring and managing the training of Premier employees.

Greer Gibson Bacon has been selected as a public arbitrator by the National Association of Securities Dealers. As an arbitrator, she will help to resolve disputes between private investors and brokerage firms and their employees. A 20-year veteran of the financial services industry and president of Asset Planning & Management Inc., Bacon is a fee-only certified financial planner and registered investment adviser.

Susan Phillips has joined Columbia Paint & Coatings as accounts receivable administrator for the Metro Region. Her responsibilities include posting and applying payments and account adjustments, responding to customer inquiries and processing store billing for all accounts in Metro Region stores. She previously worked for Guam Memorial Hospital in Guam.

Gov. Gary Locke has appointed Carol Landa-McVicker to serve as a trustee of Community Colleges of Spokane. Her term runs through September 2003. Landa-McVicker, a long-time civic activist and human resource analyst with Spokane County, replaces Roberta Greene, who recently retired from the board after serving nine years. Landa-McVicker received a master’s degree in education from the University of Washington. She began her career with Spokane County as a staff assistant to then-commissioner Pat Mummey. She later joined Spokane County Public Works as assistant to the director, then held a couple of jobs at Spokane County Human Resources before moving into her current position as human resource analyst.

Moving up:

Columbia Paint & Coatings has promoted the following employees:

Lana Foster was named credit analyst for the Western Region. Foster joined Columbia in April 1999 as a credit assistant. Her responsibilities include working directly with Columbia store personnel and customers on credit and collection for all accounts in Western Region stores.

Bavonnie Clark was promoted to credit analyst for the Eastern Region. Clark, who was hired in February 1999 as Eastern/Metro credit analyst, will work directly with Columbia store personnel and customers on credit and collection for all accounts in Eastern Region stores.

Virginia Dean was promoted to credit analyst, Metro Region. She has worked for Columbia since 1998 as accounts receivable supervisor. Her responsibilities include working directly with Columbia store personnel and customers on credit and collection for all accounts in Metro Region stores.

Michelle Haldeman was named accounts receivable supervisor. She joined Columbia in September 1998 as an accounts receivable administrator. Her responsibilities include managing the accounts receivable department, monthly closing of accounts receivable, coordination with the credit department on collection efforts and supervision of an accounting assistant, a part-time accounts receivable assistant and three accounts receivable administrators.

Starting up:

Daniel J. Davis has opened a private law practice at 711 N. Lincoln in Spokane. He retired from the Washington State Patrol in 1996 after 25 years of service and graduated from Gonzaga University School of Law in 1999. Davis will practice primarily in the areas of personal injury litigation, employment law and criminal defense.

Kudos:

Glenna DeVleming, a retail mortgage banker for U.S. Bank, has received the bank’s Top Tier Award for outstanding sales performance. The 2000 Top Tier winners are among the top 10 percent of sales employees and have achieved the highest annual revenue production in the company. DeVleming received a trip for two to the Marriott Resort Hotel in Marcos Island, Fla.
