Metropolitan Mortage Opens Web Site

Metropolitan Mortgage & Securities Co. has launched a Web site that will give brokers easier access to its financial products and services.

Marketing Director David Lackey said the site was well-received at a recent trade show in Dallas, where it was clear the mortgage industry will become increasingly electronic.

The site, www.metmtg.com, will contain information on everything from residential mortgages and commercial loans to annuities and property development.

Lackey said some consumer information would be included, but the site is not intended for retail use.

“Our strategy over the next 12 months is to empower our brokers,” he said, noting credit reports and appraisals will be added.

Also, Lackey said, links will enable brokers to access other sites more cheaply than they could on their own because Metropolitan buys those services in bulk.

He said Brokernet, a popular Metropolitan contract application, will be available at the site directly, instead of as a dial-up service.
