Bank Robbery Suspect Arrested
Spokane police arrested a man Saturday morning who is wanted by the FBI for bank robbery.
Timothy Binford, 32, is one of four men sought in connection with the late February hold-up of a bank in Rockford. Two other men have been arrested and the fourth, David D. Pegram, is at large.
Early Saturday morning, Binford spent an hour riding around Spokane in a cab, police said. When Binford saw police cars converging in the 900 block of North Washington, he bolted from the cab and was caught after a chase on foot, police said. It was unclear Saturday night how police tracked Binford to the cab.
Officers who searched him found a small packet of cocaine in his eyeglass case. Binford was booked into jail for possession of a controlled substance and on an unrelated assault warrant.
