On The Docket
The Idaho Supreme Court is in Coeur d’Alene until Wednes- day this week.
Today justices will hear the following cases:
Edward Worzala v. Bonnie Rene Worzala: This is the second appeal in a divorce case over whether a business was their community property.
Willard Osmunson, etal v. State of Idaho and Bonner County School District: This case is over a state law passed in 1996 that restricts lawsuits against the state over public school conditions.
Sam Cook and Sandra Cook v. Skyline Corporation, Norwest Home Center, Inc.: This case involves a breach of contract over a purchased manufactured home.
On Wednesday, justices will hear:
An appeal by Joseph Pratt, who was charged with first-degree murder after he allegedly shot and killed U.S. Forest Service officer Brent Jacobson. A jury found him guilty on numerous counts.
A case against Paul Albert Hankey, who was convicted for felony drunken driving.
An appeals court, however, found the state did not meet its burden of establishing that the traffic stop was based on reasonable suspicion of criminal activity.
The state is appealing that decision.
