Rev. Haneda Speaking At Buddhist Temple

The Rev. Nobuo Haneda of Berkeley, Calif., is scheduled to speak at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Spokane Buddhist Temple, 927 S. Perry. His talk is titled “The Influence of Japanese Culture on Buddhism.”

The lecture is part of a series of events happening in Spokane as part of the Japan Week celebration. All are invited to attend.

Haneda will also lead a special Hanamatsuri service to observe the birthday of the Buddha Shakyamumi at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at the church.

Garage sale at Moran UMC

The Moran United Methodist Church is holding its third annual Trading Post sale Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The church’s fellowship hall will be emptied of hundreds of items that church members have been collecting over the past year. Available items include household items, furniture, and things for the yard. The church is located at 3601 E. 65th.
