Center Seeking Blood Donations

From Staff

Blood donations have dropped at The Inland Northwest Blood Center, due to spring break and other factors.

As a result, the center is encouraging people to donate blood today as part of World Health Day. The theme of World Health Day is “A Safe and Adequate Blood Supply for the Millennium.” The blood center, at 507 S. Washington, is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today.

Most Americans assume that an adequate blood supply is always on hand to fulfill their needs, blood center officials said. The nation’s blood supply is marginal and each year it is becoming harder to maintain, the center said.
