Baby’S Night Out
In the dim glow of the movie theater, the wails rise as actor Ben Affleck tastes the darker side of prison cuisine in “Reindeer Games.” These filmgoers aren’t crying for Affleck. They just need a nap. It’s Monday at Oakland’s Parkway Theater, the night when you and your baby get to howl. Catherine Fischer, co-owner of the theater, had heard about movie houses elsewhere setting aside glassed-in rooms for crying babies. She decided to take the concept a step further and the weekly baby night at the theater was born. There are couches and cocktail lounge seating instead of the traditional rows of flip-up seats. Patrons can order salads and pizza, then wash them down with beer or wine.
