High School Juniors Receive UI Honors

Several high school juniors from Latah County were honored as Idaho Top Scholars by the University of Idaho Alumni Association.

Based on academic records, the students were ranked in the top 10 percent of their class. They are listed by their schools:

Deary High School: Rita Beltran, Teresa Dalton, Eric Femerite, Kamas Jones, Anna Miller, Beverly White, Rebecca Winter and Mindi Wood.

Moscow High School: Bernardo Alvarez, Benjamin Anderson, Janelle Anderson-Chalker, Courtney Berglund, Taly Bialostocki, Cheyenne Brown, Nathan Canney, Ben Carpenter, Jessica Crocker, Valerie Freeman, Coty Gale, Hilary Grabner, Daniel Hunt, Jenessa Johnson, Jennifer Lefors, Chelan Pedrow, Rachel Potratz, Brandon Richards, Rachael Ruby and Aaron Simmons.

Genesee High School: Jesse Aherin, Elise Booth, Andrea Morscheck, Sara Morscheck and Bryan Rossebo.

Kendrick High School: Melissa Flatt, Chelsie Henson, Sarah McDowell and Erik Yukl.

Logos High School, Moscow: Connie Anderson and Bryan Blakey.

Potlatch High School: Adonna Barnes, Alison Folk, Maggie Hartman, Nick Nicholson, Erin Southwick and Rosalynn West.

Troy High School: Tony Geidl and Carolyn Murdock.

Ryan Findley, a member of Boy Scout Troop 313, has received the Eagle Scout Award.

His service project was to plan and orchestrate resurfacing the play yard at the Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery Center. He also solicited donations of materials and led several other Scouts who helped with the project.

He is a senior at Ferris High School, where he is the drum major.

Findley, who has received a nomination from Rep. George Nethercutt, hopes to attend the U.S. Air Force Academy. He plans to go into the field of aerospace engineering.

Billy Seegars, a member of Boy Scout Troop 51, received his Eagle Scout in a recent Court of Honor at Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 51.

He is the son of C.D. and Leeann Seegars.
