Davis, Duvall Top All-Star Game Roster

Two first-team All-State girls basketball players headline the North Idaho roster for the seventh Jack Blair Memorial Classic.

Senior post Shaylia Davis of Coeur d’Alene, the A-1 and Idaho Gatorade Player of the Year, and senior guard Anika Duvall of Lakeland, an A-2 first-team pick, are part of a 12-player roster that will take on an Eastern Washington team June 5 at 7 p.m. at East Valley High School.

Davis, Boise State-bound, led CdA (25-1) to a state title. She averaged 16.5 points and nine rebounds per game and broke her school’s career scoring record (1,160 points) which had stood for 18 years.

Davis is joined on the team by teammates Patti Stranger and Brittany Douglas.

Duvall led a sophomore-dominated team to state as Lakeland finished 20-3. Lakeland sophomore Micki DesMarais will also play.

Others on the team are senior Cassie Bro (guard) of Lake City, an all-Border League first-teamer headed to Idaho State; senior Carmi Eberle, junior Desiree Johnson and freshman Aubree Johnson of Post Falls, the Border League’s newcomer of the year; senior Courtney Goetz and junior Brenda Robinson of Moscow; and junior Angie Turner of Priest River, the IML’s MVP.

Steve Seymour of Lakeland and Chris Johnson of Post Falls will co-coach.

Rosters are on the Stat Sheet on C4.
