Faulty Lights Lead To Man’S Arrest

A 26-year-old Spokane Valley man was arrested for car theft Thursday.

A deputy stopped a Datsun driving north on Fancher Road near Sprague Avenue at 10:30 p.m. Thursday because the car’s brake lights were not working, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

The deputy arrested Jamie S. Chandler, 1517 N. Park Road, after finding that his driver’s license had been suspended.

The deputy noticed the ignition switch of the Datsun had been punched out. Further checks showed that the car had been reported stolen on April 3 from Picnic Pines Trailer Court near Medical Lake.

The suspect was booked into the Spokane County Jail on a charge of felony car theft. A misdemeanor charge of driving with a suspended license is pending.
