School Boundaries Proposal On Agenda
A committee’s proposal on new boundaries for the Coeur d’Alene School District’s elementary and middle schools will be presented to the school board at 7 p.m. Monday.
The meeting, to be held at Woodland Middle School, is open to the public.
The attendance zone committee gathered data and held numerous meetings, including two community forums, before reaching a recommendation on how the boundary lines should change. The opening this fall of Skyway Elementary School necessitates the shift.
Maps and descriptions of the proposed zones are available at all elementary and middle schools.
This proposal follows one that was widely criticized by several groups of parents at a forum last month. Stephanie Powers, committee chairwoman, said comments from parents and community members were considered when developing the new recommendation.
The board will accept public comments Monday and at its April 24 meeting before reaching a decision.
