Experience: Started in 1969 as a patrol officer for the Chicago Police Department.

Currently commander of the Forensic Services Division, he is responsible for all crime scenes within the city of Chicago.

Cronin has expertise in the art of criminal personality profiling - made famous in the book and movie “The Silence of the Lambs.”

He was one of five officers chosen to develop curriculum for the Community Oriented Policing Program in Chicago.

Education: B.A. in criminal justice from Lewis University, Lockport, Ill. M.S. in social justice from Lewis University.

Extensive specialized police training, including a one-year fellowship at the Behavioral Science Unit at the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Va.
