Kettle Falls school levy was narrowly passing Tuesday night in Stevens County, but not by as great a margin as last month when absentee ballots eventually turned victory to defeat.

The measure had 63.1 percent support Tuesday. It needs at least 60 percent approval to pass.

Last month, the two-year, $690,000-a-year operating levy had 65.8 percent support on election night, but absentee ballots dragged it down to 58.7 percent.
