Ksps To Air Diversity Program

Spokane’s dialogue on racial diversity hits the airways live tonight on public access stations from Coeur d’Alene to the Tri-Cities.

Beginning at 7 p.m., KSPS will air an hourlong segment that includes a panel of diversity experts who will answer questions phoned in by the viewing audience.

“Race Matters: Why Should I Care?” also features news stories prepared with the help of area media outlets, KREM, KHQ, KXLY and AT&T Cable.

KSPS general manager Bill Stanley hopes the show starts discussions around town.

It will be simulcast on AT&T Cable, Coeur d’Alene Cable, KWSU in Pullman, KTNW in the Tri-Cities and the KPBX affiliate radio station, KSFC-FM 91.9.

Panel members include: Raymond Reyes, academic vice president for diversity at Gonzaga University; Robbie Paul, a faculty member of Intercollegiate Center for Nursing Education; Dan Distelhorst, an organization management consultant; Vince Lemus, human rights specialist with the city; and Betsy Wilkerson; the owner and administrator of a care facility.
