Allies Win, Lose, Head For Home

Tim Gittell’s bases-loaded hit in the 10th inning knocked in Darin Tomlinson and lifted the Coeur d’Alene Allies to a 17-16 win over the Caldwell Silver Streaks in a consolation game at the Idaho state American Legion Baseball tournament on Monday at Wigle Field in Boise.

The Allies bowed out of the tournament in the next game, losing to Idaho Falls 11-1 in the consolation semifinals.

Golf

Indian Canyon’s David Christenson shot a 72 in the first round of the Pacific Northwest PGA Assistants championship at Indian Summer Golf Course in Olympia.

Christenson is two strokes behind co-leaders Doug Gullikson and Doug DuChateau. The final round will be played today.
