Cops, Scope Open Doors To Public

Spokane Police Department COPS stations around the city are participating in the annual “Night Out Against Crime” tonight. The Spokane Sheriff’s Office SCOPE stations are participating as well at locations around the county.

Doors will be open at the Community Oriented Policing Services stations between 6 and 9 p.m. and refreshments will be available. The event will take place at COPS Logan, 802 East Sharp; COPS NevaWood, 4705 North Addison; COPS North Central, 630 West Shannon; COPS Northeast, 5208 North Market; COPS Northwest, Shadle Center No. 204; COPS Southeast, 2824 East 29th Ave.; COPS Southwest, 1608 West Sixth No. 7; COPS West, 1901 West Boone; Top COPS, 1201 West First.

Neighborhoods participating in the Sheriff’s Office parties include: 19029 E. Boone from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Contact Rod Hathaway at 921-1310; 3009 N. Stout from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.; 1320 S. The Night Out Against Crime is part of a national campaign to increase community support in battling criminal activity. In addition to the COPS stations and sheriff’s parties, 72 neighborhoods will hold private block parties. Holy Family Hospital will have a large public gathering on the city’s north side.
