Rights Groups Will Discuss Resolution
Spokane human rights groups are meeting Sunday to discuss the Washington state Republican Party’s passage of a resolution to abolish tribal government.
The meeting is scheduled for 2-4 p.m. Sunday in the auditorium at the Riverpoint Center, 668 N. Riverpoint Boulevard. It’s sponsored by the Spokane Human Rights Commission.
Organizers are hoping to hear different views and educate one another on the historical aspects of federal policies and contemporary decisions surrounding tribal sovereignty and treaty rights.
