Dysfunction Studied

Bicycling

Men in major organized bicycling events such as the Seattle-to-Portland ride and The Register’s Great Ride Across Iowa are being asked to participate in an University of Washington study on erectile dysfunction in bicycle riders.

Researchers are trying to determine if the ability to get or keep an erection is affected by long bicycle rides and the role different saddle types might play.

Several companies have designed saddles in recent years with strategically designed cutouts to reduce groin numbness.

Sexually active men 21 years or older are guaranteed complete privacy if they participate in the study.
