Area Students Receive Army Reserve Award
The following Inland Northwest area high school students recently received the United States Army Reserve National Scholar/Athlete Award:

High School; Jeremy Groth and Stephanie Brown, Curlew (Wash.) High School; Dusty Pearson and Shawnee Pickerel, Cusick (Wash.) High School; Jonathon Simmons and Vivian Abell, Inchelium (Wash.) High School; Keith Garner and Michelle Kinley, Jenkins High School, Chewelah, Wash.; Jonathan L. Payne and Kimberly D. Marcum, Kettle Falls (Wash.) Each year the Army Reserve sponsors the program to recognize and honor top male and female high school scholars and athletes across the nation.
Marshal Bassett and Winston Matthews have recently received their Eagle Scout Award, the highest award given in the Boy Scouts of America.
Bassett is a member of Varsity Team 320 and is a freshman at Ferris High School. He is the son of Mark and Pat Bassett, Spokane.
Matthews is a member of Venture Crew 320 and a recent graduate of Ferris High School. He is the son of Steve and Lorie Matthews, Spokane.
