Sheriff’S Deputy Arrests Man For Meth Possession

A Spokane man arrested for drug possession is being investigated for several car burglaries and other thefts in the Spokane Valley.

A sheriff’s deputy stopped a white Subaru Friday evening at Fourth Avenue and Carnahan Road for a loud muffler.

The deputy saw a syringe on the car’s passenger seat and a small puncture wound in the man’s arm dripping blood, according to the Sheriff’s department report.

A search of the vehicle by a K-9 unit uncovered two small cases containing drug paraphernalia. Tools, credit cards in various names and a vehicle registration not belonging to the suspect also were found in the car.

The vehicle registration belonged to a man who said his car had been burglarized that afternoon at the Home Base store on Sprague Avenue in the Valley.

Also, the white Subaru’s license plate had been called into Crime Check that morning when a man saw the car parked in front of his neighbor’s house and said he believed someone was breaking into the house.

Nathan P. Reynoso, 22, 1405 E. Central, was arrested on felony meth possession and misdemeanor drug paraphernalia charges.

The Sheriff’s department will continue to investigate the incident, said spokesman Cpl. David Reagan. Burglary and vehicle prowling charges could be added, he said.
