Film Crew Plans To Re-Create Fire
A Discovery Channel crew will film smoke and flames at an undisclosed West Plains location this weekend as they re-create the Bowie Road fire that was part of the 1991 firestorm.
The crew will use smoke-generating equipment and fire sticks, which simulate flames in front of cameras.
County fire districts in the area will be alerted so they don’t respond to the scene.
To limit onlookers, the film crew doesn’t want the location publicized, but it did want to notify the public so the faux fire does not cause alarm.
Spokane County deputies and citizens who played major roles in the evacuation and firefighting associated with the blaze will be filmed as part of the documentary.
