Nine Mile Falls Plans Reunion

Ever lived in Nine Mile Falls? If so, you’re invited to a reunion Sept. 9 at 11 a.m. in Sontag Park.

While writing a history of Nine Mile, Margaret Sontag and Benita Mason met dozens of people with stories about the area to share. “Why not get everyone - former and current residents - together?” they thought. And so they are.

County Commissioner Phil Harris will give the welcome and Jacque Fallis Batt, a Nine Mile resident in the ‘20s and ‘30s, will give a talk about her experiences.

Food will be sold in the park, games will be available for children and tours of the dam and historic camp houses will be given. There will also be lots of old pictures to leaf through.

If you’d like to give a talk about your Nine Mile days, call Margaret Sontag at 483-7374 or Benita Mason at 466-4916 to reserve a time.

Otherwise, just show up.
