MOUNT SPOKANE

The great cross country ski an mountain bike trail system at Mount Spokane isn’t an accident. The trails were carefully planned and require regular maintenance to keep them cleared for biking and suitable for winter grooming.

Volunteers are needed for trail maintenance outings sponsored by the Selkirk Nordic Ski Education Foundation on Aug. 27, Sept. 10, Sept. 30 and Oct. 14.

Groups meet at 9 a.m. at park headquarters before working out shuttles around construction to the trail system.
