Reservations Taken For Forum On Hate
Reservations for a student forum on area hate groups will be accepted through Friday.
The free event will be from noon to 2 p.m. on Tuesday in the City Council Chambers in the lower level of City Hall, 808 W. Spokane Falls Blvd.
The program will include a slide show and guest speakers on the militia movement, area hate groups and recent hate crimes. A discussion will follow on ways youth can reduce prejudice and prevent hate.
Middle and high school students who wish to work on these issues in their neighborhoods and schools are encouraged to attend. Parents, school administrators, teachers and other faculty are also invited.
The forum is sponsored by the City of Spokane Human Rights office, The Spokesman-Review and the School District 81 equity office.
