Ruth (McKelvey) Dry Spokane
Memorial service for Ruth A. (McKelvey) Dry, 78, will be at 1:30 p.m. today at Heritage Funeral Home.
A lifetime Spokane resident, Mrs. Dry died Wednesday.
In 1938 she married John Dry. She was a homemaker.
Her husband died in 1998.
Survivors include a son, Thomas Dry of Spokane; five daughters, Jean Ryan and Carol Schroeder, both of Spokane, Peggy Wiggins of Salmon, Idaho, Judy Tourville of Bermuda Dunes, Calif., and Susan Caywood of Terlton, Okla.; a brother, Ted McKelvey of Spokane; four sisters, Polly Thom, Anabelle Warner and Loraine Coe, all of Spokane, and Fay Tooney of Minnesota; 22 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Luella Wickstrom Morris Ashland, Ore.
Graveside service for Luella Wickstrom Morris, 91, will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Grandview Cemetery in Bonners Ferry. Bonners Ferry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Morris, who died Aug. 3, was born in Leaf Mountain, Minn.
She graduated from Bonners Ferry High School. She earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Eastern Washington State University and a master’s degree from Southern Oregon University.
In 1943 she married Raymond Morris in Salt Lake City.
Mrs. Morris taught for four years in a one-room school in Endicott, Wash., and then taught in Palouse, Wash. She returned to Boundary County and taught for a total of 17 years in Eastport and at Northside, Southside and Valley View elementary schools. In 1950 she moved to Ashland and taught fifth grade for 24 years at Briscoe Elementary.
She was a member of the Oregon Retired Educators Association, Delta Kappa Gamma and Beta Sigma Phi.
He died in 1982.
Survivors include four nieces, Carol Wickstrom Scearce, Marlene Wickstrom Fallquist, Anna Moser Ramseth and Alice Moser Chaney; a nephew, Tom Moser; and grandnieces and grandnephews.

Jane Chance Spokane
Private burial for Jane R. Chance, 87, will be Monday at Greenwood Memorial Terrace. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Chance, who was born in Turk, Wash., died Tuesday.
She was a 44-year Spokane resident and a homemaker.
Her husband of 49 years, John, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her companion, Elmer Monigold; two daughters, Mona Eggleston of Spokane and Myrna Thompson of Mead; a son, Stan Chance of Quartzsite, Ariz.; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Willard `Pete’ Thomas Spokane
Memorial service for Willard W. “Pete” Thomas, 76, will be at 10 a.m. today at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
A 57-year Spokane resident, Mr. Thomas died Friday.
He was born in Chewelah, Wash., and raised in Yreka, Calif.
In 1944 he joined the Army Air Corps. He served during World War II as a ball-turret gunner on B-17s with the 390th Bomb Group. He later served in the Air National Guard and retired in 1972.
He received a bachelor’s degree in education from Eastern Washington State College and taught for a short time.
Mr. Thomas worked as an advertising executive for local broadcasting firms, including KHQ and KXLY, during the 1950s. He later worked as an outside sales representative for Lawton Printing. He retired in 1985.
He was a founding member of the Spokane Public Relations Council and was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Pauline; three sons, Jerry and Jeff Thomas, both of Spokane, and Paul Thomas of Coeur d’Alene; a daughter, Barbara Rolfe of Snohomish, Wash.; and seven grandchildren.

Chester Rogers St. John, Wash.
Service for Chester “Chet” Rogers, 88, will be at 1 p.m. today at St. John’s Christian Church. Burial will follow at the St. John Cemetery. Bruning Funeral Home in Colfax, Wash., is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Rogers, who was born near Portland died Tuesday.
His family moved to the Steptoe, Wash., area when he was 16 years old.
In 1953 he married Hollis Stevenson.
He worked on farms near St. John and Lancaster, Wash., for about 12 years before going to work for George Webb.
Mr. Rogers was a member of the Wheatland Grange, the St. John Gun Club and for more than 23 years, the St. John Volunteer Fire Department.
He is survived by his wife.

John Rowe Spokane
Private service was Thursday for John A. Rowe, 83. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Rowe, who was born in Nanticoke, Pa., died Aug. 18.
He served in the Army during World War II and flew with the 305th Bomb Group in England.
Mr. Rowe was a 27-year Spokane resident. He worked as a real estate broker and musician.
He was a member of the Musicians Union, the Blind Veterans Association and the 305th Bomb Group Association. He was also a member of Community Bible Chapel.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Dorothy; three sons, John Rowe Jr. of Santa Rosa, Calif., Peter Rowe of Vallejo, Calif., and Duncan Rowe of Nashville, Tenn.; two daughters, Amy Rowe of Mead and Elizabeth Rowe of Pasco; and seven grandchildren.
Randall Bailey Spokane
Memorial service for Randall D. Bailey, 48, was Saturday at Sunset Chapel at Fairmount Memorial Park.
A lifetime Spokane resident, Mr. Bailey died Wednesday.
He served in the Army during the Vietnam War as a grader operator in the Seventh Engineers Brigade from 1969 to 1972. He was awarded a National Defense Service Medal, a Vietnam Campaign Medal and a Civil Action Honorary Medal First Class.
Mr. Bailey worked as a certified auto technician for 28 years. He operated Bailey Brothers Union 76 service station from 1977 to 1984.
Survivors include his wife, Diane; a daughter, Sonia Bailey, and a son, Douglas Bailey, both of Spokane; two stepdaughters, Taunya Campbell and Jacklyn Christensen; a stepson, Lloyd Christensen; his mother, Mary Bailey of Spokane; a brother, Daniel Bailey of Spokane; and three grandchildren.
Lillian `Sue’ Lynch Spokane
Memorial service for Lillian “Sue” Lynch, 58, will be at 7 p.m. today at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Colbert. Spokane Cremation and Burial Service is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Lynch, who died Friday, was born in Marshalltown, Iowa.
She was a 27-year Spokane resident and a homemaker.
Mrs. Lynch was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband of 35 years, Jack; a daughter, Christi James of Chattaroy; a son, Patrick Lynch of Seattle; two brothers, Doug and William Loftus, both of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; a sister, Mary Jo Bedford of Santa Rosa, Calif.; and two grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Mary (Rantz) Lee Spokane
No service will be held for Mary Ann (Rantz) Lee, 78, at her request. Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Lee, who was born in Bemidji, Minn., died Aug. 12.
She was a clerical worker in the insurance industry.
In 1941 she married Paul Peterson. They moved to Spokane in 1946. He died in 1973.
In 1975 she married William Lee. He died in 1980.
She married Erwin Johnson in 1986. He died in 1992.
Survivors include three sons, Corey Peterson of Newman Lake, Paul Peterson of West Richland, Wash., and Randy Peterson of Lynnwood, Wash.; five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
