Woman’S Condition Critical After Crash
A two-vehicle accident on State Route 270 at 12:30 p.m. Sunday left a Palouse, Wash. woman in critical condition.
Dennis Conrad, 50, of Garfield, Wash., was eastbound on the highway that runs between Pullman and Moscow, Idaho in his 1997 Chevrolet Malibu. When he stopped to make a turn, Elsie Boyd, 37, of Palouse, ran into the back of his car with her 1997 Toyota 4Runner, according to the Washington State Patrol. The Toyota rolled once and Boyd was thrown out of the car.
Conrad was wearing his seat belt and wasn’t injured in the crash. Boyd, who wasn’t wearing a seat belt, suffered massive head trauma. She was airlifted to Sacred Heart in Spokane where she remained in critical condition Monday.
Her 8-year-old son, Thomas, suffered a fractured leg and her 9-year-old daughter, Kristine, had facial lacerations. Both children were treated at Pullman Memorial Hospital.
