21-Year-Old Charged With Drunken Driving

A New Meadows, Idaho, man was arrested on drunken driving charges after he was involved in a head-on accident on Interstate 90 early Friday.

Dane Kerby, 21, was driving his 1990 Toyota 4-Runner west on I-90 in the eastbound lanes in Post Falls. His 4-Runner had only one headlight, Idaho State Police said.

After cresting an overpass, Kerby’s SUV slammed into a 1999 GMC Suburban driven by David McKibbin, ISP said.

Both vehicles were totaled. Both Kerby and McKibbin were taken to Kootenai Medical Center, where they were treated and released. The freeway was blocked for about an hour and a half, ISP said.
