G-Prep Rally Denies Ev

East Valley’s opportunity to upset Gonzaga Prep ran afoul on Friday night.

Four EV players fouled out in the fourth quarter as G-Prep rallied for a 56-49 road win in a Greater Spokane League season opener.

Alisa Lewis, a 6-foot senior transfer from California, scored 16 points for G-Prep on 6-for-18 shooting from the field.

Tiera Como, one of the four Knights players to foul out, finished with 14 rebounds.

Heidi Horobiowski scored 21, hitting 9 of 17 from the floor with two 3-pointers, and the Wildcats held off the visiting Pirates.

Mt. Spokane’s Rachel Bertholf and Jill Wyrick combined for 21 rebounds. Horobiowski and Angie Grandinetti teamed for seven steals.

Rogers closed within three points in the fourth quarter before dropping back.
