Valley Columnists Wanted

Have you ever wanted to be a newspaper columnist?

Imagine having a forum to share your keen insights with your neighbors, to interpret community events, to explain your views on important issues, to inspire your fellow citizens, or to simply offer up your humorous observations on life here in the Spokane Valley.

This just might be your chance.

There are openings on the Valley Voice Council of Contributors. The council is made up of Valley residents who collectively act as an informal advisory group and who individually write the Front Porch column, which appears every Thursday in the Valley Voice.

We’re looking for people who are willing and able to articulate Valley perspectives on Valley issues.

We want people who could write perhaps five or six columns for the Voice during the coming year.

You don’t have to be a certifiable expert on anything. You just have to have something fresh to say about things that matter to people who live in the Valley.

If you would like to be considered, send a one-page letter telling us about yourself and describing some of the things you would like to write about.

Submit your letter to: Mike Schmeltzer, Valley Voice, 13208 E. Sprague, Spokane, WA 99216. Fax: 927-2175. E-mail: mikes@spokesman.com.
