Business Park Seeks New Zoning

The developer of the Sunset Pointe Business Park is seeking a zone change to allow construction of the business park’s third phase.

Arger Sunset LLC wants to build a four-story office building with 46,000 square feet of space. Its tenants would be limited to professional services, including attorneys, accountants and medical care providers.

The project would go on a 2.9-acre parcel on Assembly Road south of Sunset Boulevard.

Currently the property is zoned for semirural residential use. The developer has asked the Spokane County hearing examiner to change the zoning to higher density residential use, which also allows professional offices.

A public hearing was scheduled for Wednesday.

Tammy Jones, associate county planner, said a traffic study by the developer showed that the project would not cause congestion problems at the intersection of Sunset and Assembly.
