New Book Chronicles Parking Garage Woes

A new book on the controversial downtown garage has been published by a reporter for Spokane’s online magazine.

“Secret Deal: The Story Behind the River Park Square Garage” compiles and updates stories Tim Connor wrote for the online Camas Magazine, beginning last summer. In it, Connor details the legal and political problems the garage has spawned. He also analyzes and criticizes different elements of the partnership between the city and the River Park Square mall developers, who also own The Spokesman-Review and KHQ-TV.

The book, which retails for $9.95, is being sold through the magazine’s Web site, www.camasmagazine.com, and will be available at Auntie’s Book Store, magazine publisher Judy Laddon said.
