Springdale Tops Nwc, Wins 5Th Without Loss

Lyle Norman hit both ends of a free throw 1-and-1 with 5 seconds left Friday to lift surprising Springdale to a 68-66 win over visiting Northwest Christian in a Panorama League opener.
Springdale, 6-16 last year and 15-47 the last three seasons, improved to 5-0 overall.
NWC led 66-64 after Matt Descoteaux was fouled on a 3-pointer and hit all three attempts with 1 minute, 30 seconds left. Freshman Lewis Adolph fed Norman for a tying layup with 55 seconds left.
The Crusaders were called for traveling with 30 seconds left. Norman drew a foul on the low block after a pass from Adolph.
Norman added 17 rebounds and Joey McClure scored 20 for the Chargers.
