Hot-Shooting Rebels Down Ewu Women
Linda Frohlich scored 24 points, handed out seven assists and snared six rebounds to spark the Nevada-Las Vegas Rebels to an 81-72 non-conference win over the Eastern Washington Eagles on Saturday in Cheney.
Eastern couldn’t cool off hot-shooting UNLV. The Rebels (6-1) hit 60 percent (18 of 30) of their shots from the floor in the first half to open a 42-35 lead at the break. They followed that with 56 percent shooting (14 of 25) in the second half to hold off the Eagles (3-4).
Jennifer Paluck scored 24 for Eastern to tie Frohlich for game-high honors. Allie Bailey chipped in with 13 points and a game-high nine rebounds.
The Eagles shot a respectable 44 percent from the field, including 50 percent (8 of 16) from 3-point range.
