Five years ago:The first group of U.S. Marines arrived in the Bosnian capital of Sarajevo to join NATO soldiers sent to enforce peace in the former Yugoslavia.

One year ago: More than 2 million people marched in Cuba to demand the return of Elian Gonzalez. Death claimed Croatian President Franjo Tudjman at age 77.
