Reward Offered In Armed Robberies

Secret Witness is offering a $1,000 cash reward for information that solves the Dec. 1 armed robbery of a mailing business in the Spokane Valley.

The man entered the business, Mailbox Center, 9116 E. Sprague, in the afternoon and demanded money. During the robbery, his handgun fired and the bullet wounded a teenage girl who was in the business.

The man took some cash and fled. The robber was described as a black male in his mid- to late 20s, about 6-foot-1, thin and wearing black clothing.

Earlier the same afternoon, a man with a similar description robbed an employee at another mailing business on the South Hill. The man stopped the employee outside Mailboxes Etc., 1314 S. Grand, and displayed a handgun. He took some cash from the employee and ran.

Anyone with information on either crime is asked to call Secret Witness at 327-5111. Callers are urged to use a code name or number, and do not have to give their name to be eligible for the reward.
