WSU’S Bush Making Fast Recovery

Washington State guard Mike Bush is progressing from ankle surgery faster than expected and could be back as soon as the Sacramento State game Dec. 23 or the Nevada game Dec. 30, WSU coach Paul Graham said.

Bush, the Cougars’ leading scorer and rebounder last season, had surgery on the ankle Nov. 21. He began to jog on Friday.

The 6-foot-6 junior has been academically ineligible this first semester so he could not have played until Dec. 23 anyway. But the fear was the ankle injury could keep him out until the Pac-10 season.

The Cougars are also missing Kendall Minor. The sophomore guard flew to New York for a funeral and will not be back until today, Graham said.

Minor has missed the majority of the team’s practices with an ankle injury.
