Clinton Raymond Spokane
Visitation for Clinton Wayne Raymond, 85, will be from 8 a.m. to noon today at Riplinger Funeral Home. Graveside service will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Fairmount Memorial Park with a memorial service at 2:30 p.m. at Lidgerwood Presbyterian Church.
Mr. Raymond, who was born in Kingman County, Kan., died Tuesday from injuries suffered in an automobile accident north of Spokane on Interstate 90 that also killed Clyde Fuller.
He worked as a real estate agent and also had worked as a journalist in the communications and media industry.
Mr. Raymond was a past district governor of the Toastmasters District No. 9. He also was a member of the Lidgerwood Presbyterian Church and served on the board of elders and deacons and was a Sunday School teacher.
His wife of 55 years, Olive, died in 1996.
Survivors include a daughter, Lorraine Barnum of Owens Cross Roads, Ala.; a grandson and a great-granddaughter.
Marjorie O’Boyle Post Falls
Visitation for Marjorie J. O’Boyle, 77, will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene. Service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be Wednesday at Mountain View Cemetery in Walla Walla.
Mrs. O’Boyle, who was born in LaCrosse, Wash., died Friday.
She graduated from high school in Walla Walla in 1940. In 1946 she married Edward O’Boyle. They lived in Walla Walla and moved to Seattle in 1956. They moved to Hayden Lake, Idaho, in 1979 and to Post Falls in 1997.
Mrs. O’Boyle was a past member of the Avondale Golf Club and also enjoyed bridge and gardening.
Survivors include her husband; two sisters, Mary Fausti of Walla Walla and Nadyne Harvey of Thompson Falls, Mont.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dorothy King Davenport, Wash.
Visitation for Dorothy L. King, 81, will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Strate Funeral Home in Davenport. Graveside service is planned for 11 a.m. Wednesday at Odessa (Wash.) Cemetery. Memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Born in Asotin, Wash., Mrs. King died Thursday.
She was a 45-year Davenport resident and a homemaker.
Her husband, Arnold, died in 1993.
Survivors include two sons, Doug King of Spokane and Gary King of Davenport; a daughter, Sandy Lillengreen of Edwall, Wash.; two brothers, Roy Dodd of Washougal, Wash., and Sid Dodd of Vancouver, Wash.; a sister, Mary Delashmutt of Vancouver; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Marie Johnson Pasco
Graveside service for Marie M. Johnson, 95, was Friday at Greenwood Memorial Terrace in Spokane. Mrs. Johnson, who was born in Spokane, died Thursday.
She graduated from Kinman Business College.
She was a homemaker and had worked as a secretary for a certified public accounting firm.
She lived in Spokane until moving to Pasco in 1995.
Mrs. Johnson was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Spokane and the Sons and Sisters of the Herman Lodge in Spokane.
Her husband, William, died in 1963.
Survivors include a daughter, Louise Tollefson of Pasco; two granddaughters, two great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Ken `Scotty’ Peone Ford, Wash.
Funeral Mass for Ken “Scotty” Peone, 56, will be at 10 a.m. today at Spokane Tribal Longhouse in Wellpinit, Wash. Burial will follow at Hubert Cemetery in Ford. Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-South is in charge of arrangements.
A 50-year Ford resident, Mr. Peone died Thursday. He was born in Seattle.
He served in the Army during the Vietnam War for one tour.
Mr. Peone worked as a head groundman for Avista Utilities for 25 years before retiring in 1999.
He was a member of the Coeur d’Alene Tribe.
Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Lindy; two daughters, Melissa Williams and Sis Peone, and a son, Ken Peone, all of Ford; a brother, Sam Peone Jr. of Spokane; six sisters, Vi Sanchez of Ford and Ann McAlister, Rebecca Jordan and Norma, Joanne and Rosie Peone, all of Plummer, Idaho; and four grandchildren.
Edwin Giersdorf Coral Springs, Fla.
Memorial service for Edwin Louis Giersdorf, a former Moses Lake resident, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Moses Lake United Methodist Church. Kraeer Funeral Home in Coral Springs is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Ephrata, Wash., Mr. Giersdorf died Nov. 18. He was 51.
He grew up in Moses Lake. His family later moved to Oklahoma, where he graduated from Wilberton High School.
Mr. Giersdorf served as a drill sergeant in the Army during the Vietnam War. He participated in the color guard during the funeral for President Dwight D. Eisenhower.
In 1972 he married Carolee Dragoo. They lived in Colorado and Illinois until moving to Moses Lake in 1976.
Mr. Giersdorf worked as a supervisor for North American Coal Corp. and was transferred to Bula, N.D., in 1985. He was promoted to operations manager in 1995 and was transferred to Coral Springs.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Justin Giersdorf in Grand Forks, N.D., and Seth Giersdorf of Coral Springs; his parents, Louis and Marie Giersdorf of Wenatchee; a brother, Les Giersdorf of Moses Lake; and two sisters, Linda Millard of Moses Lake and Debbie Volkman of Chelan, Wash.
Joanne Spalding-Stacy Bainbridge Island, Wash.
Memorial service for Joanne Ross Spalding-Stacy, 81, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. David’s Episcopal Church in Spokane. Kass Funeral Home in Bainbridge Island is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Spalding-Stacy, a former Spokane resident, died Nov. 22. She was born in Clarkston, Wash.
Her family moved to Spokane and she graduated in 1936 from Lewis and Clark High School.
She married Russell Strandberg in 1939. They were divorced after 26 years of marriage.
Mrs. Spalding-Stacy worked for the Country Holmes Veterinary Clinic which her husband owned.
She moved to Bainbridge in 1967 from Pullman where she lived for one year.
Mrs. Spalding-Stacy worked as a secretary and office manager for the Forest Service in Mount Baker and Snoqualmie, Wash. She retired in 1979.
She was a member of the Sand Sifters Garden Club and St. David’s Episcopal Church, both in Spokane, Rolling Bay (Wash.) Presbyterian Church and the Republican Women. She authored “Black Eagle of the Nimiipu.”
Survivors include two sons, Ken Strandberg of Spokane and Lee Strandberg of Kingston, Wash.; and six grandchildren.

Robert Emacio Spokane
Memorial service for Robert L. “Bob” Emacio, 85, will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Episcopal Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Wallace, Mr. Emacio died Tuesday.
He graduated in 1931 from Wallace High School.
Mr. Emacio received a stockbrokers license in 1937 and worked for E.J. Gibson Co. in Coeur d’Alene.
He moved to Spokane in 1940 and established a brokerage business in the Radio Central Building in downtown Spokane.
In 1941 he married Pauline Morrison.
Mr. Emacio enlisted in the Army Air Corps in 1943 at the downtown armory. He served as assistant base commander in Ceylon, India, and was involved with supplying the European Theater with military supplies.
He returned to Spokane in 1946 and established R.L. Emacio Co. He later owned and operated the Madison Street Pigeon Hole Parking and Evergreen Parking Co.
Mr. Emacio served in the Air National Guard for 24 years. He retired in 1975 as a lieutenant colonel.
He was a member of the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, Spokane Country Club, Spokane Club and the Elks Lodge.
His wife died in 1991.
Survivors include two sons, John and Jim Emacio, both of Spokane; a daughter, Jeanne Wilson of Maple Valley, Wash.; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Cathedral of St. John to Evangelist or Meals on Wheels.
Margaret French Spokane
Service for Margaret E. French, 105, will be at 10 a.m. today at Thornhill Valley Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Riverside Memorial Park.
Mrs. French, who was born in England, died Wednesday.
She was an 80-year Spokane resident and a homemaker.
Her husband, Percy, died in 1981.
Survivors include a daughter, Frances Pitts, and two sisters, Dollie Scully and Chrissie Strange, all of Spokane; one grandchild and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Union Gospel Mission, Salvation Army or the Visiting Nurses Association.
Jack Johnston Otis Orchards
No service will be held for Jack G. Johnston, 91, at his request. Thornhill Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Spokane, Mr. Johnston died Wednesday.
After he served in the Navy during World War II, he lived in Canada for 20 years.
Mr. Johnston moved back to Spokane and worked as a truck driver for Consolidated Freightways and EZ Loader.
He also worked for the Spokane County Parks Department until age 85.
Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Myrtle; a son, Gavin Johnson of Calgary, Alberta; a daughter, Maryann Duggan of Gwynn, Alberta; a stepson, Pete Magnuson of Rocky Mountain House, Alberta; and a stepdaughter, Pat Kimber of Swift Current, Saskatchewan.
Janice Mitchell Spokane
Private service will be held for Janice Lynne Mitchell, 43, at a later date. The Neptune Society of Washington is in charge of arrangements.
A lifetime Spokane resident, Mrs. Mitchell died Thursday from cancer.
She graduated in 1975 from North Central High School.
She worked for Thrifty Plumbing Supply for three years and later worked as a caregiver in the health care industry.
Survivors include her parents, Jim Halterman of Spokane and Joyce Giakovmis of Sagle, Idaho; and a sister, Nancy Dardenne of Seattle.
Memorial contributions may be made to The Spokesman-Review Christmas Fund or the American Cancer Society.
Corrine (Hamley) Powers Spokane
Memorial service for Corrine (Hamley) Powers, 61, will be at 1 p.m. today at New Hope Baptist Church. Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
A lifetime Spokane resident, Mrs. Powers died Tuesday.
She worked as a care giver at the West View Boarding Home before working as a housekeeper at St. Luke’s Hospital from 1977 to 1982. She then worked at the Sheraton Hotel.
Her husband, George, preceded her in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Tammy Spencer and Kathy Calhoun, both of Spokane; six brothers, Robert Vigil of Spokane, Marvin Hamley of Colville, Wash., Vernon Hamley and Tom and Donald Vigil, all of Seattle, and James Hamley of Portland; two sisters, Dolores Benway of Pocatello, Idaho, and Virginia Gardner of Griffin, Ga.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Stephen Clark Spokane
Service for Stephen H. “Steve” Clark, 95, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Riplinger Funeral Home. Burial will follow at 1 p.m. at Mountain View Park Cemetery in Colville, Wash.
A lifetime Spokane-area resident, Mr. Clark died Friday. He was born in Tumtum, Wash.
He worked as a self-employed contractor in home construction.
He was preceded in death by his wives, Alberta in 1983 and Margaret in 1999.
He is survived by two brothers, Marion and Cecil Clark, both of Spokane.
Donald Kemano Spokane
Service for Donald L. Kemano, 51, was Friday at Heritage Funeral Home. Inurnment will be at Riverside Memorial Park.
Born in Portland, Mr. Kemano died Dec. 3.
His family moved to Spokane when he was an infant.
In 1968 he graduated from Rogers High School and entered the Marine Corps.
He served in the Vietnam War as a group troop corporal radio dispatcher for the 2nd Battalion Fourth Marine Regiment of the 3rd Marine Division.
Mr. Kemano worked as a foreman at Smith Brothers Greenhouse. He also worked as the groundskeeper and horticulturist at the Spokane County Courthouse.
Survivors include three sons, Devin Kemano of Spokane, Donald Kemano of Seattle and David Kemano of Twentynine Palms, Calif.; his mother, Omie Geile of Spokane; two brothers, John Geile of Spokane and Daniel Kemano of Chesapeake, Va.; and a sister, Diana Culver of Spokane.
Verna (Ludtke) O’Leary Spokane
Memorial service for Verna Jean (Ludtke) O’Leary, 69, will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Riplinger Funeral Home.
A 46-year Spokane resident, Mrs. O’Leary died Sunday. She was born in Sprague, Wash.
After graduating from high school she attended Washington State College. She received an X-ray technician degree from Minneapolis General Hospital.
She married Donald O’Leary in 1952.
Mrs. O’Leary was a homemaker and a member of the Hillyard Senior Center and the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary.
Her husband died in 1998.
Survivors include three sons, Kevin, Tim and Dan O’Leary; two daughters, Mary Beth Connors and Kerri O’Leary-Abbott; a sister, Mary Ludtke; and four grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Knights of Columbus Christmas Club.
