The Lake City Timber- wolves are claiming a spot on top of the Border League boys basketball standings.

Lake City knocked off the previously undefeated West Valley Eagles 77-68 Tuesday night in Coeur d’Alene.

In the last five days, the T-Wolves have toppled Cheney and West Valley, two teams expected to contend for the league crown.

Conor Hammons and Nick Pilon scored 18 points apiece for the host Timberwolves. WV’s Lance Pecht scored a game-high 24.
