Children’S Christmas Programs Coming To A Church Near You
With Christmas just around the corner, children at many North side churches are unveiling their Christmas pageants and programs next week. The programs offer a taste of the Christmas season that the whole family can enjoy.
The children of Audubon Park United Methodist Church will present their Christmas program “The Little Star” during 9:30 and 11 a.m. worship services Sunday.
The church is located at 3908 N. Driscoll Blvd.
The Sunday school students at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church will present their Christmas program during the 10 a.m. worship service Sunday.
The church is located at 4620 N. Regal.
The youth of Messiah Lutheran Church, 4202 N. Belt, will lead the church’s 11 a.m. worship service Sunday. “The Best Little Christmas Pageant Ever” will be presented during the service.
The Sunday school students at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church will put on their Christmas program Saturday at 6 p.m. The church is located at 1703 N. Washington.
The Christmas program begins at 6 p.m. Sunday at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 8441 N. Indian Trail Road. The youth will present “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever.”
“The Mysterious Christmas Card” will be presented immediately following the 10:30 a.m. worship service Sunday at Lidgerwood Presbyterian Church, 4449 N. Nevada. The musical will feature students in the church’s Sunday school classes. Lunch will be served. The youth of St. David’s Episcopal Church will present their Christmas pageant during the 10 a.m. worship service Sunday.
The church is located at 7315 N. Wall.
St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, 6905 N. Country Homes Blvd., will have its children’s Christmas program at 6:30 p.m. Sunday.
“Christmas Around the World” will be presented during the 8:30 and 11 a.m. worship services Sunday at the First Church of the Open Bible, 8303 N. Division. The program will feature a puppet show and the children’s choir.
The children of Northwood Presbyterian Church, 6721 N. Monroe, will put on their Christmas program, titled “How the Grouch Found Christmas,” during the church’s 10:30 a.m. worship service Sunday.
The youth of Shiloh Hills Baptist Church will present their Christmas program of drama and music during the 9 a.m. worship service Sunday.
The church is located at 207 E. Lincoln Road.
St. Luke Lutheran Church, 9704 N. Division, will put on its children’s Christmas program, titled “The Greatest Gift,” at 3:30 p.m. Sunday. The presentation will be followed by a potluck dinner at 4:30 p.m.
The choir at Green Bluff Community United Methodist Church, 9908 E. Green Bluff Road, will perform their Christmas program at 11 a.m. Sunday.
The church also is putting on its outdoor living Nativity scene again this year. The scene will be presented from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
Living Nativity set for this week
Colbert Presbyterian Church is preparing to put on its annual living Nativity this week. The presentation will include live animals and Christmas carols. There will be performances at 5:10, 5:50 and 6:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Those attending are encouraged to arrive at least 10 minutes before the scheduled starting time.
The Nativity will be presented at the church’s future building site on the northwest corner of Highway 2 and Colbert Road.
Christmas concerts
The Open Door United Church of Christ in Deer Park will host a Christmas concert performed by the Deer Park High School Chamber Choir at 6 p.m. Sunday. The program will conclude with a sing along of Handel’s Hallelujah chorus. Admission is free but tickets are required and can be reserved by calling 276-5107.

The choirs of Grace Baptist Church and Westminster Presbyterian Church will perform the Christmas cantata “Touched by a Child, Touched by a King” at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at Grace Baptist, 1523 W. Mallon.
Free concert Sunday
Simon’s Cross will present a free concert at 6 p.m. Sunday at Driscoll Blvd. Baptist Church, 4815 N. Driscoll Blvd. Tickets are required and may be picked up at the church, Sower Bible Bookstore locations or Christian Supply locations.
A limited number of free tickets are available for a pre-concert pizza party for youth ages 12-18. Call the church at 328-3394 for more information.
