Inland Northwest fly-fishing shops are sponsoring a variety of winter courses and seminars in fly tying, rod building and fishing techniques as follows.

SPOKANE

Blue Dun, 135 S. Sherman: Group classes in fly tying and rod building, plus individual instruction in fly casting and fly fishing. Info: 838-3474.

COEUR D’ALENE

Northwest Outfitters Orvis, Highway 95 and Canfield Road: Fly tying starts Jan. 9, followed by specialty courses for intermediate tyers.

One-day fly casting school on Jan. 13, with others to be scheduled.
