G-Prep Senior Wins Scholastic Award

Brian Short, a senior at Gonzaga Prep High School, has recently been named to the Junior Who’s Who Among American High School students. Only 5 percent of the students from our nation’s 24,000 high schools are honored in Who’s Who each year.

Short is the son of Bob and Susan Short, Liberty Lake. He has been selected as Gonzaga Prep’s nominee for the 2001 Prudential Spirit of Community Awards. This program recognizes students who have demonstrated exemplary community service on a local, state and national level.

John Lacy, Post Falls, has been chosen as the November Rotary Student of the Month by the Post Falls Rotary. His honors include Idaho Top Scholar, academic letter holder, two-time Outstanding Individual Scholastic Award for basketball, one-time Outstanding Individual Scholastic Award for golf, and National Honor Society.

Lacy is the son of George and Vicki Lacy and has a grade-point average of 4.2.

Karina Lewis, Rockford, Wash., placed fourth with her beige dress and navy pea coat in the senior division of the Washington State Make It Yourself With Wool competition held Nov. 4 in Mount Vernon, Wash.
