Missing Bow Hunter Found In Good Shape
A lost hunter was located Friday in good shape after a search party started looking for him.
Cheyenne McElderry, 24, of Coeur d’Alene, was found after being out for about 25 hours.
McElderry and a friend had snowmobiled to bow hunt in the Silver Creek drainage, which is about 21 miles northwest of Kingston.
McElderry started to track an elk and did not return late Thursday.
On Friday, members of three search and rescue teams and friends began to search.
McElderry had survival items with him and was able to stay warm with a fire.
He was retracing his steps when he was found, Lt. Mitch Alexander of the Shoshone County Sheriff’s Department said in a release.
