Clint Steen and Marcus Wells combined for 57 points Wednesday to carry Joseph, Ore., to a 73-62 boys basketball win over Lakeside in an opener of the Lapwai Tournament.

The Eagles outscored Lakeside 13-2 in the final 3 minutes, 55 seconds.

L.J. Trottier scored 21 and Leonard Johnson added 18 points and five steals for the Knights.

The tourney’s second game was Priest River vs. the host Wildcats. The result wasn’t reported.
