Shooters Say ‘Pull’
TRAPSHOOTING
For the 83rd year, shotgunners from around the Inland Northwest will be heating up the ranges at their local gun clubs this winter vying for titles and trophies in The Spokesman-Review Inland Northwest Trapshoot.
Teams shoot on Sundays from Jan. 7 through Feb. 25 and send their scores to the newspaper for publication the following week.
Small-town clubs make up the bulk of the participation. The eight-week contest is the oldest trapshooting event of its kind in the nation. In the early years, scores were sent to the paper by telegraph.
Shooters who don’t belong to a gun club can form their own four-person teams and still compete. For information, contact the Sports Department at 459-5500.
