Itron Will Delay Earnings Report

From Staff

Itron Inc. announced Monday it will delay release of its fourth-quarter results one week to allow officials time to fully assess the costs of restructuring measures taken during the last three months of 1999.

The figures will be released Feb. 9, not Feb. 2.

Spokeswoman Mima Scarpelli said the Spokane maker of utility metering equipment will take charges to cover a reduction in its executive corps and reconfiguration of its European operations.

The company took an $8.8 million charge in the third quarter to cover the cost of reducing its labor force, including 90 Spokane jobs.
