Highway 95 Closed By Truck Rollover

From Staff Reports

U.S. Highway 95 was closed for about 30 minutes on Tuesday afternoon near the Cocolalla Creek Bridge after a refrigerated truck overturned.

Mark Hirst, of Spokane, was driving his 2-1/2-ton truck and following a car that did not have working taillights or brake lights, a police report said.

When the car stopped to make a left turn into a driveway, Hirst tried to miss it by heading onto the shoulder, Idaho State Police said.

One of the truck’s wheels got caught on the snow and the truck flipped. It did not hit the car.

Hirst, 35, was taken to Bonner General Hospital, treated for shoulder injuries and was released, ISP officials said.

The driver of the car was ticketed for driving with unsafe equipment.
